There are a lot of myths surrounding ADHD Remedies and ADHD treatments.
We’ve all heard about the myths that seems to surround ADHD and also the prescribed treatment for ADHD. One such myth is how one becomes ADHD affected and that this disease was created by pharmaceutical companies, who wanted to sell more drugs.
Here are 6 myths regarding ADHD remedies and the facts that are now dispelling them:-
Myth 1: Kids with ADHD are using it as an excuse for not taking personal responsibility for their actions.
Truth: ADHD is considered by many therapists, educators, doctors to be a real daily challenge and they are by no means making any excuses. The medicine they are prescribed is to help assist in correcting a specific chemical imbalance, allowing these children the opportunity to live a normal and productive life, without the problems that are associated with ADHD.
Myth 2: ADHD is created due to poor parenting
Truth: A common misperception is that children contract ADHD due to poor parenting, where parents don’t educate or discipline them properly. Tests have proven this to be inaccurate, and that by providing a more stricter environment for the ADHD child will not benefit or help the disorder. Studies have proven that this tends to make things even worse.
Myth 3: Giving Ritalin to ADHD children is unsafe
Truth: Recent research has proven that ADHD children and adults who have been prescribed Ritalin to treat their disorder have benefited greatly. Ritalin has been used successfully and safely for well over 50 years and has offered no adverse long term side effects. That does not mean to say that there are absolutely no side effects, as that would be untrue. The main point with Ritalin, is that no one has ever died taking the drug and that includes overdosing on the drug. Ritalin has also been shown to unalter a child’s growth and when they are eventually taken off the drug, they show no long term or permanent side effects from its use.
Myth 4: ADHD is not a disorder that is real.
Truth: Today, ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder has been proven to be a neurobiological disorder, that is now recognized by the courts. These would include The US Department of Education, the NIH (National Institutes of Health), The United States Congress and many other major medical professions, which include psychiatric doctors and educational associations.
Myth 5: Giving Ritalin to your child is like giving them cocaine.
Truth: While Ritalin is considered a stimulant (Methylphenidate), it’s a prescribed medication that is different both chemically to the illegal narcotic drug called cocaine. Use of the prescribed drug Ritalin does not cause long term addiction or a drug dependence. It also doesn’t create psychosis in the patient who is using Ritalin, compared to a cocaine user.
Myth 6: You can outgrow ADHD over time
Truth: Children who have ADHD can take the disorder with them into adulthood. Around 15-50% of children who are diagnosed with ADHD, may have this disorder with them for the rest of their lives.

Welcome to my ADHD Remedy site, I hope you find my information regarding ADHD relevant and also helpful.

I have ADD, my hyperactivity is in my mind. Natural ADHD remedies work for me, with coping strategies, nutritional supplements and homeopathic mixtures.
My personal feeling is a natural remedy before a conventional stimulant medication.
Firstly the Concerta, Adderall and Ritalin type drugs do not cure as they only work a few hours and then you are back where you started, plus side effects that last longer than the symptom masking effect.
Secondly the advice from the real experts, drug addicts who abuse these stimulant drugs, is do not take them. The addicts laughed at doctors who say these are safe and non-addictive.
Also important to remember with ADHD is that good sleep is vital.
I have ADD too, I never tried any medication, but I personally manage my condition.
I found out that doing my regular exercises and outdoor activities increase my level of attentiveness and alertness. Giving to my brain what it need, nutrients and oxygen which can be feed into it only with sufficient blood circulation is one of my coping strategies.
I also found doing neurobic exercises as a good mental activity, it sharpens the mind. And keeping in constant interaction with other people makes my social life healthy.
Many more of these things are done in a Christian wilderness program, this will be good for any child.
